Oh my fuck, this is a problem that exists outside of NY as well. I think that most men (not all, thank god) are given to take up as much room as possible whereas most women (not all) adapt to the needs of others, thereby shoving themselves into small clothes, spaces and situations. Sometimes when the person I’m sitting next to has their legs splayed, I make myself comfortable by spreading my legs as well. Oddly enough, they shut theirs and move over. Or maybe it’s ‘cause I shove them a little. Either way, I do it smiling.
