This here’s a jam for all the fellas. Some unsolicited advice for the mens: The first rule of being cool and desirable to girls is to be a feminist. It’s totally not just for chicks! Speaking as someone dangerously close to creating a Jackson Katz heart collage, being an anti-sexism activist is just about the most crushworthy thing you can do. And don’t think you can just carry around a copy of “The Second Sex” or namedrop Judith Butler. We know the difference, fools! This isn’t to diminish the work of feminist men, but for every Katz (sigh) there’s a college boy with his jockstrap in a twist over male activists at a Planned Parenthood rally. And believe me when I say nothing is less panty-dropping than a man who doesn’t support your right to choose. For a more accurate test, conduct a random survey of any ten women and ask them if they’d rather get down with Fred Durst or Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys. I think you’ll find the results to be quite stimulating.
